Drive-by Shooting Following Murder of Beloved Community Peacemaker Fuels Fears of Retaliation
- A crowd gathered last Friday evening at Rainier Playfields to pay respects to Shemar Curry, 32, who was shot and killed by unknown assailants earlier in the week, were the targets of a drive-by shooting
- During this latest shooting, one man was killed, and another was wounded
- Curry was viewed as a peacemaker with a reputation for helping people settle grudges; Curry’s mother Angie Smith said that her son “wasn’t a target, but [was] a retaliation against other people”
- An investigation into both shootings is on-going; anyone with any information is urged to contact Seattle Police
